I made this film inspired by a poem from Lucebert, a famous dutch poet and artist. It is part of a serie called Dichtvorm klassiekers produced by Illuster productions I made the animation together with Peter Wassink. Percussion and drums by Han Bennink and saxophone by Benjamin Herman.

Lola Montez was a dancer and courtisane. Among her lovers were King Lodewijk I from Beieren and the composer Franz Liszt. Montez her behavior drew the attention from the Victorian press. They regarded her as the most shameful woman of her time.
